Giving back is something that we’ve always been passionate about. Since we’re headquartered in the beautiful land of Hawaii, we’re surrounded by some of the most breathtaking natural beauty this world has to offer. Could this be the reason that we’re passionate about saving the Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil? Perhaps. It’s far more likely, however, that we simply see a need, and know that we can make a difference. In today’s blog, we’re going to discuss the deforestation of the Atlantic Rainforest, and Mana Rush Guarana’s passion about seeing changes in this unique habitat.

A Sad Reality

The story of deforestation in the Atlantic Rainforest is one of the most tragic ones we’ve heard; around 93 percent of the original area has been cut down. This peaceful, natural ecosystem, with its unique and vast endemic organisms, is close to being completely eliminated. Upon realizing what’s been happening here, we knew that we’d have to do what we could to try to battle this sad reality.

Even with this extreme act of deforestation, the Atlantic Rainforest still has immense biological diversity – for example, the region currently has 270 types of mammals (90 endemic), 372 amphibian species (260 endemic), 197 reptiles (60 endemic), 849 bird species (188 endemic), 2120 butterflies (948 endemic), and 456 different tree species – easily a world record.

Here at Mana Rush, we are committed to making products that have a positive effect on social and ecological conditions. We know that we are responsible to live the change that we want to see on this planet and, thus, have begun the Mana Rush Guarana project with the number one goal of protecting the Atlantic Rainforest. At least 10 percent of all profits of Mana Rush, therefore, go to the Brazilian NGO “Atlantic Rainforest Institution” or simply ARFI.

Frequently asked questions

What is guarana?
Guarana is a plant native to the Amazon whose seeds are one of the richest natural sources of caffeine. It has been used for centuries as a natural energy source and is valued for delivering a smoother, slower-release lift than coffee.
Is guarana better than coffee for energy?
Many people find guarana energy feels smoother and steadier than coffee because its caffeine releases more gradually, with less of a spike and crash. Both contain caffeine, so it comes down to how your body responds.
How long does guarana stay in your system?
Caffeine from guarana has a half-life of about 4–6 hours in most adults, so the effect tapers off over the hours after a serving. Metabolism, body weight, and caffeine sensitivity all influence how long you feel it.
What is natural or plant-based caffeine?
Natural caffeine comes from plants such as guarana, coffee, and tea rather than being made synthetically. Mana Rush uses guarana, one of the most caffeine-dense plants, for about 200 mg of natural caffeine per serving with zero sugar.
How do I use Mana Rush guarana powder?
Mix one scoop into cold water, sparkling water, or a smoothie — it dissolves in about 30 seconds. Use a full glass for steady energy or 60–80 ml for a concentrated shot. Start with one serving per day and adjust to taste and tolerance.
