How Much Caffeine Is in Guarana?
Guaraná naturally contains caffeine, but there is no single caffeine number that applies to every guaraná powder, extract or finished drink. The useful number is the amount of caffeine in the specific product and serving you actually use.
For Mana Rush, the current label states about 250 mg of caffeine in a full 5 g serving. Half that amount is about 125 mg, and one quarter is about 63 mg. Changing the amount of water changes the flavor concentration, not the amount of caffeine in the powder you measured.
How much caffeine is in Mana Rush?
| Powder amount | Approximate caffeine |
|---|---|
| Full 5 g serving | About 250 mg |
| Half serving | About 125 mg |
| Quarter serving | About 63 mg |
Use the serving directions on the pouch and measure the powder rather than judging caffeine by the size of the finished drink. See how to use Mana Rush for the current mixing guidance.
Why guarana caffeine numbers vary
“Guarana” describes an ingredient, not a standardized caffeine dose. Different products can use different amounts or concentrations of guaraná, and finished beverages can have very different serving sizes. That is why comparing products by actual caffeine milligrams is more useful than comparing words such as “scoop,” “cup,” “shot” or “energy drink.”
Mana Rush uses a labeled powder serving so you can see the approximate caffeine amount associated with the amount of powder you measure. Current pouch sizes and flavor availability are listed in the Mana Rush flavor collection.
How does 250 mg compare with coffee?
Coffee varies widely. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration lists regular brewed, non-specialty coffee at roughly 113–247 mg of caffeine per 12 fluid ounces in its current consumer guidance. That range is one reason a cup-to-scoop comparison can be misleading.
The better comparison is milligrams to milligrams. Our Guaraná vs Coffee guide compares caffeine source, preparation, flavor and serving format without assuming that one coffee equals one Mana Rush serving.
How much caffeine is too much?
The FDA cites 400 mg of caffeine per day for most adults as an amount not generally associated with negative effects, while also emphasizing that sensitivity varies considerably from person to person. That figure is not a target or a recommended serving. Body size, medications, medical conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, other caffeine sources and individual sensitivity can all matter.
Because a full Mana Rush serving contains about 250 mg, it is important to count coffee, tea, energy drinks, chocolate, supplements and other caffeine used the same day. If you have a medical condition, take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have been advised to limit stimulants, discuss caffeine use with a qualified health professional.

Does adding more water reduce the caffeine?
No. If you use the same measured amount of powder, adding more water makes the drink more diluted but does not remove caffeine. For example, a full 5 g serving remains about 250 mg whether you mix it into a small concentrated drink or a larger glass of water.
Is guarana caffeine different from coffee caffeine?
The caffeine molecule is the same. What can differ is the product around it: the amount of caffeine, serving size, other ingredients, flavor and preparation. Personal response can also vary, so the most practical starting point is the labeled caffeine amount and your total caffeine intake.
Choosing a Mana Rush serving
Mana Rush is a high-caffeine product intended for adults. Start by reading the pouch label and choosing an amount that fits your own caffeine tolerance and total daily intake. If you want less than a full serving, measure less powder rather than simply adding more water.
